Wayne Davidson, LMHC, Certified Mental Game Coach (MGCP), works with athletes and teams from a wide variety of sports backgrounds, to help improve sports performance and mental toughness. He coaches and consults a diversified group including athletes, students, and professional organizations experiencing performance challenges.
Each mental game program is individually tailored to the athlete’s particular challenges. Together we summarize all key problem areas and then outline effective strategies needed to reach the goal of improving the mental game and identifying all the strategies needed to accomplish your goals.
Wayne has an extensive background as an educator, counselor and motivator, with over 30 years of helping students and athletes accomplish their goals and improve performance. He holds a Masters of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling and is Licensed to Practice in the state of Florida.
Wayne was a successful athlete playing basketball, baseball, track and football from an early age through College. His main focus was in basketball and track where he had multiple scholarship offers. He attended junior college and played basketball at Walters State Community College. He later accepted a Track Scholarship from Carson Newman College where he held the High Jump record of 7 feet for many years. This success helped him to walk on at The University of Tennessee as a High Jumper on a National Championship team coached by Stan Huntsman.
Presently, Wayne is the parent of a successful athlete and spends much of his free time working with his son and his friends on the game of basketball. He often gives team seminars to his son’s AAU team and enjoys attending his basketball games at Tampa Prep High School. He has worked with several athletes from surrounding High Schools and is devoted and passionate about sports. His wide range of interest in multiple sports, from golf to hockey, demonstrates that he is not just a mental game coach, but someone whom truly has a passion for helping others reach their peak performance.
